6 Ways To Level Up Your Contact Form Thank You Page
Color block of green and pink

POV: someone finds you on Instagram, jumps over to your website, briefly notices you might have a product or service they need, they submit a contact form on your website for more information on how to work with you and they’re greeted with a “thanks, I’ll be in touch” with nothing else to support them while they’re there.

👆🏼This is a HUGE missed opportunity when it comes to your website, especially if this is the main way that you’re capturing leads.  So what do you do to make sure that people don’t just submit a form and never hear from you again?

A thank you page with additional information reinforces why they should choose your service or buy your product. This page can include an introductory video, images of the team, or more details about working together, for example.

Thank you pages are the perfect way to guide someone through your customer journey while they’re waiting to hear back from you, but it’s also one of the main pieces that I see being overlooked when it comes to websites.

And I get it! A simple thank you page that populates after a contact form submission just seems like the natural and normal thing to do.

But if you want to be more strategic and intentional with your leads, there’s a few things you can implement on your thank you pages in order to make sure your leads aren’t being left in the dust and are instead being nurtured.

6 Tweaks to Get The Most Out Of Your Thank You Page

1. Introduce yourself & how you serve people

It's easy to assume that when someone submits a contact form, they are already familiar with you and your services, but this is often far from the truth.

There’s a good chance they aren’t totally clear on who you are or who you serve, so take this chance to introduce yourself and give more background for how you help people.

This is the perfect place to include an introductory video that includes their next steps and what they can expect! This also allows them to put a face to your name and get more connected with you right off the bat.

2. Examples of your work with testimonials or social proof

If someone is already inquiring to potentially work with you, then what better moment to show them your work in action WITH reviews?

95% of people say they read reviews before buying, which honestly shouldn’t come as a shock!

Think about it: if you’re about to buy something on Amazon, what’s the first thing you do? Probably read the reviews to make sure the product is actually worth it.

YOUR products and services are the same way. People not only want to know what they’re buying, but they want to know that it’s worked for people before them.

A thank you page after a contact form submission is a great place to display snippets of your portfolio along with long form testimonials and more casual screenshots that show social proof.

3. A freebie download

If you have an existing lead magnet that is beneficial to your audience, a thank you page is the perfect place to offer that up as a free resource so that:

a) you keep them nurtured until you can act on their contact form submission, but more importantly

b) you get them onto your email list so that you can stay in consistent communication with them in the future

Chances are if people are reaching out to you interested in your services, they’ll also be interested in your freebies, so it’s truly a brilliant way to get your lead magnet out there in a different way.

4. A link to your social media platforms

Along with a quick introduction of you and what you do, invite them to connect with you on the platforms that you spend most of your time on!

Keep your messaging light, fun and casual in order to bring them into your bubble on multiple platforms while also telling them what they can expect from you on those apps.

Give them a reason that’s more than just “follow me” - we can do better than that!

For example, do you go live on Instagram every Tuesday morning? Tell them that and invite them to join you!

5. List your FAQ

If someone is submitting a contact form from your website, it’s likely because they have some sort of question!

While you of course want them to feel comfortable to ask any question they have, how awesome would it be if you could answer those questions ahead of time? Your thank you page can do that!

Keep your wording positive and let them know when they can expect to hear from you, but also add in a
“are you wondering these too?” section that addresses some common questions that you receive.

6. Calendar booking for the immediate option to chat with you

I am a lover of automation, so anytime I can implement some sort of system into my business to relieve a few manual steps that have to be done over and over, I do so! And I encourage you to do the same.

If you already know that the next step after someone submits a contact form is going to be an invitation to a discovery call or something of the sort, make things easier on yourself by setting up this workflow in an automatic manner.

This takes more work off of you, but also allows your potential client to feel a little more in control! If you use a CRM like
Dubsado, you can embed an appointment scheduler and set up a workflow to automate the lead capture process which simplifies the back and forth communication.

It’s truly one of the most simple and streamlined things you can do!

Overall, thank you pages are a vital part of your entire client process and play a huge role in guiding people through your customer journey in a strategic way, so don’t overlook this piece of the puzzle!

There’s so much that could be said about each element of a brand design, but for this specifically, I want to hone in on color. Colors for your brand shouldn’t be chosen at random and it’s important to fully understand what each color means before you use it as a part of your brand. The best brand colors are chosen with a clear purpose in mind, so let’s dive into the color psychology of some of the most popular colors you’re probably used to seeing. If you’re unfamiliar, color psychology suggests that different colors can evoke specific emotions, moods, and associations. While it’s true that individual perceptions may vary, there is a general rule of thumb associated with every color on the color wheel.
